The Loss of a Child Who Drowned

This is a very special addition to the website as we do lose some of our children when their purpose in life has been fulfilled! I have found a couple od amazing websites that can be very comforting to the parents who go through this loss! Also many parents come here who have already lost a child and are looking for something different than we have to offer at our Ponds Group and information here so we now have the option for them to turn to other's who can give the support they need!

The Elliot Barbier Little Prince Foundation was started in memory of Elliot Barbier.  Our son died tragically on June 14th, 2008 in an accidental drowning.  We were blessed that God chose us to have Elliot, even though it was for a short period of time he changed us and everyone around our family.  This foundation will strive to make a difference in the world everyday in Elliot's memory. 
The Elliot Barbier Little Prince Foundation will work on
the following activities:
* Specialized swim instruction for newborns and infants.
* Education on pool safety systems and alarms by qualified individuals.
* Working with health professionals on how to deal with the grief and loss that parents deal with during a child's death.
* Classroom and community education on making pools safe and the proper safety components of pools.
* Providing blankets to newborns in nurseries and emergency rooms of hospitals that have been approved by the board.
* Grants to Faith Lodge and other organizations which work to promote family, children and water/pool safety.

Through these programs our foundation hopes to educate everyone in the hope that this type of tragedy does not happen again.  Children are God's greatest gift, hug your child today.
